About MYDT
Midwest Youth Dance Theatre began as a dance studio in September 1994, with a commitment to provide all students with high quality dance training matched to their level of commitment and ability. Our student population includes girls and boys, and ranges in age from 3 to 63.
What we do:
At MYDT we focus on offering performance opportunities to our dancers. Every year we produce two large performances: a spring show for all of our dancers, and a themed winter show offered to Level 3-6 dancers.
MYDT also attends 1-2 dance competitions every year. Level 3-6 classes participate at the discretion of their teachers.
Other past MYDT performance opportunities include two trips to perform at Walt Disney World in Florida, an appearance on the Fox 9 Morning News, charity events, and the Saint Paul Winter Carnival Talent Contest.
Our focus is on:
- Including all students without auditions
- Tasteful costumes and age appropriate choreography
- Providing classes to meet your needs from "just for fun" to preparation for a college dance major or a career in dance
- Providing performance opportunities including two major performances and one dance competition each year
We consider the staff and students a part of our family, and feel a great sense of community with the families who are our customers.
